Lights on the Lake is a free community event for people of all ages to celebrate the festive season.

Come along and enjoy an afternoon and evening in the park beside beautiful Currimundi Lake with family and friends.

There will be lots of fun activities for everyone

  • Supervised childrens' activities
  • Music and entertainment by local artists
  • A variety of tasty and affordable food
  • Local hand made arts and crafts stall
  • Community groups' information stalls
  • Decorated kayak and canoe competition
  • Lights on the Lake flotilla - procession of canoes and kayaks with lights after dusk
  • Decorated Christmas tree by Sunshine Coast Council.

Lights on the Lake celebrates the spirit of the festive season, our wonderful environment, our vibrant community and families.

The festival will be environmentally friendly - no balloons, glass, naked flames (candles etc) and reduced packaging and litter.

Getting there

Crummunda Park, Wurtulla is located on Coongarra Esplanade on the northern shore of Currimundi Lake to the east of Nicklin Way.

We encourage travelling to Lights on the Lake on foot, bikes, canoe or kayak and public transport if possible.

Parking at the site is limited. Vehicles will be under the direction of SES volunteers. Set down spots for private buses, unloading watercraft and dropping off passengers will be available adjacent to the park but you may be required to park some distance away in neighbouring streets. Vehicle access from Nicklin Way is via Anuna St or Gayandi St.

Who are we?

Lights on the Lake is an initiative of three local community groups; Currimundi Catchment Care Group, Friends of Currimundi Lake and
Lions Club of Currimundi Lake/Kawana. The event is sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council. The event will be run entirely by volunteers.
